In 2013, WoodsEdge Community Church started getting serious about reproducing itself, about seeding the city of Houston and beyond with bodies of believers who could share life and invite others into the Life of God in Christ. The next year WoodsEdge joined HCPN, the Houston Church Planting Network, and through this network it began to join with other churches around Houston to sink serious money, time, and energy into training and deploying healthy church planters to plant healthy churches in the city. 

John Herrington was hired a few years later to help WoodsEdge do in Houston what John had helped Hill Country Bible do in Austin: develop a residency and train and deploy dozens of planters into Houston to supply the city with new and thriving churches that will go on to plant more churches. This effort is still underway, and the goal is to plant 100 churches in the Greater Houston Area. 

We are not just trying to plant good churches; we are trying to plant church-planting churches that form part of a larger movement in the city and state. We want to see our city saturated with the Gospel, and that will not happen without long-term, sustainable, spiritually vibrant churches being planted in every geography, every people group, and every pocket of lostness in the city.
